​​Inclusive Photography Training for Teens and Adults with Disabilities

Beginning in 2027, ThisAbility will offer a free photography training course for teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This inclusive, hands-on program will allow participants to explore their creativity, develop photography skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Lessons will be adapted to meet different learning styles, abilities, and support needs.

Participants do not need to own a professional camera, we encourage students who are able to bring their own personal camera. However they will be able to use available classroom equipment. Each participant will receive a certificate upon completing the course.

Class sizes will be limited so we can give individual support.

 

Support Our Mission

This program is offered completely free through ThisAbility and made possible through community support.

We welcome donations of working digital cameras, including Canon Rebel, Canon 5D or 6D models, point-and-shoot cameras, older smartphones, and tablets. When possible, donated equipment should include its battery, charger, memory card, and strap if possible. 

Financial donations are also appreciated and will help provide photography supplies, printed photographs, program materials, scholarships for outings, and other learning experiences.
